If Two Believers

I was reflecting this morning on these scriptures and was encouraged as I was reminded that with God, the solution to a problem is often simple.

It is awesome to realize the sheer power that IS manifested when two believers come into “agreement”.

The Word says that when we do come into agreement: “about anything that they ask [within the will of God], it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”

Anything?

Yes, anything!

Wow and Amen!

There are a couple of criteria that must be met for the promise to flow:

⁃ They must be of “one mind”.

⁃ They must be in “harmony”.

That’s it. So simple.

As we do the work to identify and associate with another believer, determine what we truly want/desire, become one mind concerning the desired outcome while ensuring it aligns with the will of God (it is helpful to use a scriptural basis), and be in harmony; then we can ask and EXPECT RESULTS!

Amen

This means that “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23 KJV

The challenge with us, as leaders, is we sometimes struggle with the sheer simplicity of the message.

The Word also warns us about those who teach a message contrary to the scripture:

“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.”

Romans 16:17-19 KJV

In closing, it is my prayer that these scriptures will settle in your spirit and give you peace, reassurance and confidence:

⁃ “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 1:2 KJV

⁃ “Have faith in God.” Mark 11:22 KJV

⁃ “Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.” John 14:10 KJV

Open His Eyes That He May See

I was reflecting on these scriptures this morning and the idea of the importance of seeking and having wise anointed counsel.

The scriptures tells us that if we seek wise counsel, we will find it. “For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8 AMPC

One benefit of wise counsel, once found, is that they bring insights that are relevant and profound and they can come into agreement with us and our vision.

When they do, the scripture reminds us that God then joins to create a three strand cord – that can not easily be broken!

It says: “…if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven.

For wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in (into) My name, there I AM in the midst of them. [Exod. 3:14.]” Matthew 18:19-20 AMPC

Selah

A second benefit is that wise counsel can pray and provide a shield of protection in trouble by declaring that:

⁃ “the Angel of the Lord encamps around us who fear Him [who revere and worship Him with awe] and each of us He delivers. [Ps. 18:1; 145:20.]” Psalm 34:7 AMPC

⁃ “A thousand may fall at our side, and ten thousand at our right hand, but it shall not come near us.” Psalm 91:7 AMPC

⁃ “For He will give His angels [especial] charge over us to accompany and defend and preserve us in all our ways [of obedience and service].” Psalm 91:11 AMPC

Amen!

A third benefit of wise counsel is they help us to mature and to no longer be like “children, tossed [like ships] to and fro between chance gusts of teaching and wavering with every changing wind of doctrine, [the prey of] the cunning and cleverness of unscrupulous men, [gamblers engaged] in every shifting form of trickery in inventing errors to mislead.” Ephesians 4:14 AMPC

We appreciate them being “instant in season, out of season; reproving, rebuking, exhorting us with all longsuffering and doctrine.” 2 Timothy 4:2 KJV

They uphold us by speaking life into our situation reminding us of what God has said: “My son, attend to my words; Incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, And health to all their flesh.” Proverbs 4:20-22 KJV

It is my prayer that we, as leaders, don’t let pride be a hinderance to our seeking wise counsel for this season of our lives.

One of his servants said, None, my Lord O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedchamber.

He said, Go and see where he is, that I may send and seize him. And it was told him, He is in Dothan. So [the Syrian king] sent there horses, chariots, and a great army. They came by night and surrounded the city.

When the servant of the man of God rose early and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was around the city. Elisha’s servant said to him, Alas, my master! What shall we do?

Agreeable to His will

I was reflecting on this scripture this morning because it really helped bring calm to my spirit: “He will cause our thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall our plans be established and succeed.”

While on this growth journey, a periodic and persistent question arises: “how” do we know whether we are in and doing gods will for our lives? We ask because we want to ensure that our lives matter.

As leaders, we live our lives with the strategy “to win”. We think all our actions are right but god looks at our ways, intentions, our motives – our whys.

Yes, we are blessed to have grace and mercy available but we don’t want to live our lives on the edges of his will. We desire to be in the center – the place of safety.

Scripture reminds us that: “Through skillful and godly Wisdom is a house (a life, a home, a family) built, and by understanding it is established [on a sound and good foundation], And by knowledge shall its chambers [of every area] be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” Proverbs 24:3-4 AMPC

Sounds simple but, it is a journey.

God is faithful to lead us if we stay close to him – even when we discover we are not where we desire to be.

⁃ Fear not!

⁃ Be not anxious!

⁃ Trust the process!

⁃ Continue to yield to the Holy Spirit!

Know that God has good plans for us.

Be it unto me

The power of agreement.

I was reading this passage and was moved by a couple thoughts as…

There are some passages that are so simple yet are so profound that you can spend a lifetime learning about and growing into until the Word becomes you.

That is what I feel when I read the Word that says that with God nothing shall be impossible.

Nothing.

That is almost hard to comprehend as on a daily basis, we may hear it be told that you “can’t” do this or that “won’t” work or that “no one has ever done this before” or whatever phrase that can and is a limiting belief- and contrary to the truth!

For with God nothing shall be impossible.

I was also amazed at the simplicity of agreement that came from Mary with her saying “be it unto me according to your word”. Period

Be it unto me that:

⁃ I am the head and not the tail

⁃ I am healed of all manner of sickness and disease

⁃ My latter days shall be greater than the former

⁃ You delight in the prosperity of your saints

⁃ Your kingdom come and that thy will be done

⁃ You have assigned angels to me and one angel can put thousands to flight

⁃ That you would lead me and guide me into all truth

⁃ That you will order my steps in your word

⁃ I will be fruitful, multiply, have dominion and subdue

⁃ That I am blessed in the city, blessed in the field and that everything that I put my hand to will prosper

⁃ That if I lack wisdom that I just need to ask

⁃ That now there is no condemnation

⁃ That I shall have faith to decree a thing and it shall be established

⁃ That I am yours and beautifully and wonderfully made

⁃ I have all sufficiency in all things
