Overcome Evil with Good

A Leadership Insight from Vision Multiplier International https://visionmultiplierllc.com/

I was reflecting on these scriptures this morning and the thought that, we the leaders, must make a conscious decision daily to live by our biblical constitution – to show grace and to extend mercy toward those we work with, live with and interface with on any given day.

We live in a season where we may find ourselves in disagreement with the beliefs and/ or decisions of those in leadership; however, we must remind ourselves that, as believers, we are not without power and we have influencing tools at our disposal.

For those changes that are happening within our work, community, churches and family that do not line up with the Word of God, we have the responsibility to take authority and to not sit in the seat of the scornful – which hurts us.

The Bible says it this way:

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭58‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.”

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭10‬:‭12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.”

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭10‬:‭20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“He who covers and forgives an offense seeks love, But he who repeats or gossips about a matter separates intimate friends.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭17‬:‭9‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Selah

Let us choose the better way and follow the example of Jesus – pouring our energies into becoming more like Him.

The Bible reminds us of that way:

“The highway of the upright turns away and departs from evil; He who guards his way protects his life (soul). Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭17‬-‭18‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“If you have foolishly exalted yourself, Or if you have plotted evil, put your hand on your mouth. [Job 21:5; 40:4]”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭30‬:‭32‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Amen

In conclusion, we must pay the price of sacrifice to walk in love so that we may dwell in God’s tabernacle. The Bible says it this way:

“LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, Nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭15‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Amen

Thank you Lord for teaching us how to overcome evil with good.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

Be Blessed!

Be a Blessing!

“Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭17‬-‭21‬ ‭KJV‬‬
